Colors of the Sanctuary-Symbolism

Scarlet — Jesus Sacrifce

Scarlet (red):- was used for the curtains at the entrance to the outer court, the entrance to the tabernacle and the vail between the holy and the most holy as well as the inner curtains of the roof of the tabernacle itself.* (Exodus 27:16, 38:18-19; 26:36-37, 31-33, 1-6)

The symbolism:-Isaiah 1:18 says "saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, " it was our sin that caused Jesus to die on the cross, it required the shedding of blood for the remission (forgiveness) of sin (Hebrews 9:22)

We are justified by His blood — Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 

Purple — Jesus Coronation

Purple:- also was used for the curtains at the entrance to the outer court, the entrance to the tabernacle and the vail between the holy and the most holy as well as the inner curtains of the roof of the tabernacle itself.* (Exodus 27:16, 38:18-19; 26:36-37, 31-33, 1-6).

The symbolism:- purple was a color worn by royalty (Judges 8:26)

Note:- purple is the combination of red and blue, Jesus was obedient to the law and died on the cross thereby becoming our King. (Philippians 2:8; John 18:37)

Righteousness by faith — Romans 3:22. Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: James 2:5. Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?   

Blue — Jesus Character

Blue:- also was used for the curtains at the entrance to the outer court, the entrance to the tabernacle and the vail between the holy and the most holy as well as the inner curtains of the roof of the tabernacle itself.* (Exodus 27:16, 38:18-19; 26:36-37, 31-33, 1-6)

The symbolism:- the blue was to remind Israel of the ten commandments. (Numbers 15:38-41)

Sanctified through the truth, the Word of God — John 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.    

White — Jesus Cleansing—Righteousness

White:- (fine twined linen) was the basic material for all the above curtains and hangings etc., the colors being embroidered on to the linen.* (Exodus 27:16, 38:18-19; 26:36-37, 31-33, 1-6)

The symbolism:- by the shedding of His blood on the cross of Calvary Jesus makes our sins as white as snow (Isaiah 1:18, last part), Revelation 7:14 tells us "These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." And Revelation 19:8 gives us that "the fine linen is the righteousness of saints."
